Updates to Project Management Tools

The Project Leader application has be moved to an updated new user interface called Project Manager Toolbox. This upgrade is necessary as AKN moves to a modernized platform that provides a better user experience.

What you need to do:

You can access the new page at https://data.pointblue.org/science/projectmanager/. The old links to Project Leader will automatically redirect to the new URL. Please update any existing links or bookmarks to the new URL for future use.

Project Manager Toolbox

Project Manager Toolbox has links to all the tools you need to manage your data, organized in groups that are named based on what you need to do. Simply click on each heading to expand each list of tools.

  • Create and manage project metadata: Includes Sampling Unit Manager, Protocol Manager, Researcher Manager, and Protocol Search
  • Get observation data in: Includes Biologists, Bulk Uploader, and Species Lookup
  • Download data: Includes Project Downloader and Data Downloader
  • Review data and set sharing levels: Includes Data Sharing Levels, Analyst, Survey Event Summaries, and Project Leader Summary

Survey Event Summaries

The update also includes a new feature called “Survey Event Summaries.” This tool allows you to view and download event summaries for data in your project. This tool is helpful if you want to quickly review survey dates, location, and number of observations at different survey events in your AKN Project.

The new Project Manager Toolbox modernizes your project management experience by centralizing metadata creation, data entry and upload, data downloads, and access controls into one streamlined interface.  Here are some things you can do now:

  • Access the Portal: Visit the new Project Manager Toolbox to explore the updated layout.
  • Update Bookmarks: While automatic redirects are in place, ensure your saved links reflect the new URL for uninterrupted access.
  • Explore Features: Try out the new Survey Event Summaries tool to review survey events, dates, and observation counts across your project.
